Get Gas

Word from friends is that gas is gone from towns like Burnsville and Greenville. Several stations in Raleigh are also out of gas. I filled up at midnight last night for $4.30/gal and the pump was ever-so-slow. This will be a short-term problem, but the time is now to fill up.

Studio @ Hargett and Revive Massage Open Tomorrow

Tomorrow (First Friday) marks the grand opening for the Studio @ Hargett and Revive Massage , both located in the Heilig Levine complex.  This is a great addition to downtown, as it adds even more retail, not to mention 2 nd and 3 rd story retail, to Hargett Street.  Revive is on the 2 nd floor, also home to Adam Cave Fine Art Gallery (whose current show was featured in yesterday’s print of The Independent), and Rebecca Nemetz’s yoga and Pilates studio, The Studio @ Hargett will take the entire 3 rd floor.  The address, 115.5 E Hargett, is tucked above Landmark Tavern and Capitol Barber, and is part of the complex soon to feature Siti.  I hear there will be plenty of free wine and massage samples tomorrow for the grand opening.  Revive’s premise is to have a walk-in massage for the downtown crowd, which will be a tremendous addition to downtown.

iPhone Mania Sweeps Triangle

iphone Though there weren’t many people camping out for iPhones this year, the rush on the Apple devices has been stronger than expected (even if Apple continues to lie about the “1 million” units “sold”). AT&T stores are out of stock and taking names on an estimated 20-day waiting list. The Apples Stores, on the other hand, are announcing availability at 9pm each night on their website , and doing first-come-first-serve sales the following mornings.

There are none available in the Triangle’s two stores (Crabtree and Southpoint) as this is being posted, but check back nightly for an Apple Store update.
