It's nice to reuse a building when the function reasonably suits the purpose, and when the building is a particularly nice one. This building doesn't seem to fit either of the criteria.

It is architecturally insignificant, awkward to convert, and (one suspects) as costly to renovate as to replace. Let's leap into the 21st Century, for Pete's sake, with a design that says something about who we are/are becoming, not some homage to a parts distributor.
