Nickelback Cancels Raleigh Concert
Well thank the Lord! WRAL is reporting that Nickelback has canceled their July 27 show at Walnut Creek due to “unforeseen circumstances”. I wonder if “nobody bought tickets” was a circumstance that anyone predicted?
It’s been a tough go lately for Nickelback. The band’s widely protested appearance on Thanksgiving Day at halftime in Detroit was soundly booed on national TV (see below). They got publicly slammed by the Black Keys, and have evolved into the most hated band in America. Somehow the radio stations still are getting the message, though.

Yea, part of surfing the mainstream wave is bashing the bands you used to listed to after they’ve peaked.

The problem isn’t Nickelback. It is RADIO. Radio keeps ramming this vanilla, derivative garbage down our throats with heavy rotations that drive even the dumbest listener crazy. From Hootie and the Blowfish to Adele, big RADIO networks have ruined the experience of decent music for the last two decades. Sirius/XM is no better, and the absurd rights granted to ASCAP by the courts have led businesses to torturing their employees with no other options for playing relevant music.
