New At Costco: Propane

Costco is now offering refills of propane for $12 $11 for members. See the attendant at the new LP station near the tire bays.

4pm Update: An employee told me this Costco location is the first in the nation to stock propane refills.

Dropped to $10.99 as of today. Sure beats the $21.99 I paid last week at Ace Hardware.

Yeah, great price!!! Surely beats Home Depot, too These savings, alone, will more than pay for the annual membership. BTW, not related to propane, COSTCO does have excellent ice cream in their little “food court”, near their tires store. The hand dipped ice cream is hard to beat, and for only $1.50.

Fyi on the process – first you drop the propane tank off at the station near the tire bays and get a ticket from the attendant, then you take the ticket inside to pay for it either at the tire register or regular checkout after you shop. Take your receipt back out to the attendant to pick up your filled tank. Great price and glad they have this service now. I would love it if they eventually get a credit card checkout at the propane station (similar to gas checkout)!
