Smith & Hawken to Shut Its Doors
The economy’s newest casualty is unfortunately Smith & Hawken. The retailer featuring (overpriced) neat garden items has been around for 30 years, and will shut down all of its stores, including the one at Crabtree. Inexplicably Plow & Hearth seems to still be doing OK.

If they had sold things at reasonable prices, they may still be in business. I walked through the Crabtree store a couple of times and left with sticker shock, but no purchases. But at a more reasonable price, a lot of their stuff would have interested me.
