The council's Comprehensive Planning Committee will take up parking at Broughton at its Wednesday meeting next week. During today's meeting, City Manager Russell Allen said some spots could be created on Cameron Street and Bellwood Drive, about 60 in all. About 40 people in the audience, many of them dressed in purple, stood in support of the 126-space lot. About a half-dozen others stood to preserve the lawn.
